7 day rail pass

Hi im planning to get a 7 day in a month ticket, and have booked a flight to pisa for tomorrow afternoon, then want to go to vienna or Budapest Saturday night. When i search for train tickets it doesnt give me an option untill April 18th... Does this mean the train is full or what?? And with a 7 day pass does that mean i just rock up and hop on?

Hello Jarrad,

Thanks for the question.

May I know which Pass do you wish to purchase?

As the printing option for seat reservations for your sector is Paper Ticket, it needs to be shipped to your address and takes 5 business days for delivery. As your travel date is too close, the tickets will not get delivered to you on time hence you are unable to book seat reservation for your sector on the website. As you will be traveling, request you to purchase seat reservations locally from the train station subject to availability.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

As Pisa to Vienna/Budapest is via border crossing train, you will need to purchase compulsory seat reservations with a Pass.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,
