Could you clarify whether the GOLDEN PASS route in Switzerland is totally free for any select pass or Eurail pass? Their website doesn't exactly specify this but the Eurail website clearly states it is free.

Also, could you PLEASE PLEASE answer this exactly - Could I have details of all Regional Trains /Intercity City trains that DO NOT required a reservation ACCORDING to destination? For example if I want to travel between many cities in different countries, can I have a list of trains requiring no reservation e.g. any regionale or intercity?

One of the websites of eurail does sell point to point ticket whereas the official website claims it does not? Could you clarify how can I buy point to point tickets e.g. Paris to Venice as some of these are cheaper than pass fares plus reservation costs. If the THELLO train company is not part of Eurail then could I have a list of cities THELLO operates Europe-wide?

Hello Latif,

Thanks for the question.

With a Eurail Global Pass, Eurail Select Pass and Swiss Travel Pass you will have to purchase seat reservations for your travel on Golden Pass Line as that is a scenic train and seat reservations are mandatory on all Scenic trains with a Pass.

Kindly note that with a Pass, you can travel on regional and intercity trains within a country itself. When you go to book tickets and view “Intercity” or “Regional” train, you do not require seat reservations on that train only with a Pass.

You can purchase point to point tickets by going on our website and we cannot comment on any other website.

Kindly click below for a list of cities where Thello train is operational.

- Thello Day train.

- Thello Night train.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
