Best pass / approach for Spain travel

Hello. My family and I (2 adults, 2 children (4 & 6) are planning to travel in Spain in June-July of this year. We hope to use trains for a lot of our travel, but I am confused as to which approach is best for us - purchasing individual trips or a rail pass. Our plans are as follows: Madrid - Penafiel - Madrid, Madrid - Toledo (day trip), Madrid - Seville - Malaga - Granada - Madrid. I would really appreciate some advice as I am getting a bit confused! Thanks. Katie

Hello Katie,

Thanks for the question.

As you are travelling extensively in Spain it is best to purchase the Renfe Spain Pass. With the Renfe Spain Pass you can travel on all regional and domestic trains within Spain. Please note that the Renfe Spain Pass is not valid to travel on board night trains.

To purchase the Renfe Spain Pass click “Here”.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. Seat Reservation can be collected prior your train travel by showing the pass as cost of seat reservations are included in the pass.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,
