Hello Francesca,

Thanks for the question.

You can book and travel as follows:

- Paris CDG to Avignon TGVTGV train.

- Avignon TGV to Avignon CentreTER train.

In order to book tickets, please visit www.raileurope.com.au

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passngers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Thank you for your very helpful answer. Can I also assume that I can get the TGV from CDG to Avignon? I haven't quite decided yet exactly which places I am going to visit and in which order. Colmar is the other destination I am keen on. I guess Strasbourg is the nearest TGV destination?

Hello Francesca,

Thank you for your response

Yes you will get TGV from Charles De Gaulle Airport to Avignon TGV station.

May I know from which station you want to go to Strasbourg, so I can assist you better.

Hi Re Strasbourg

I have absolutely no idea. We would want to travel on to Colmar so the most convenient for that. Can you also tell me please what would be the cheapest way to travel. I anticipate travelling (all on different days unless we go to Colmar first.

Paris - Avignon - Lyon - Colmar - Paris (or the other way round). I am a senior. Is it cheaper to get a travel pass?

I am so appreciating your quick responses. Thank you

Hello Francesca,

Thanks for your reply.

For your travel it is best to purchase France Rail Pass as it will be cost effective.

Depending on the days you are traveling you can select your pass validity.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass.
