Cancellation policy for Seniors:

Cancellation policy for seniors: Your website seems to imply that seniors are not subject to any cancellation costs if they need to cancel / modify their train bookings. I am a senior person, who wishes to book now, for a train journey on Thursday, 10 August, 2017 from London (St. Pancras station) to Brussels (midi station) at 0804a.m., but am loath to do so if I cannot get a refund on my ticket if I later need to cancel or modify the booking.

Please will you confirm that my understanding is correct, i.e. that, as a 'senior' person, should I need to cancel / modify my booking at some time before 10 August, that I will suffer no financial penalty.

Hello Glenys,

Thanks for the question.

May I know from where did you receive that information.

Refund/Exchange of a ticket depends on the After Sales Policy of a booking. Please click on the “Fare Details” tab which is below Add to Cart to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Awaiting your reply!!!

Hello Leora,

Thank you for your email reply. You stated that I could "...click on the 'fare details' tab which is below...". But I can't find this 'fare details tab' on your email. Where is it?

Also, you asked me where I obtained the information about seniors. On your website, you state your general conditions regarding cancellations for the general public etc. Then you state that for seniors, infants etc, no specific conditions exist. Please see the following from your website:

"...London to Brussels

Cancellation policy (via Rail Europe website):

FARE DETAILS

1 From LONDON ST-PANCRAS To BRUXELLES MIDI

Eurostar Regional

9114 - Reservation included

1 x Standard Class

Leisure 8 Adult

No specific

conditions - Child between 4 and 11 inclusive -

Youth between 12 and 25 inclusive - Senior 60 years old and over

In a later section, referring to the general public, your website states: "...Non Refundable,

exchangeable before train travel date.

Exchanges are subject to a fixed fee of 40 Euros Standard/ 50 Euros Standard

Premier adult / 20 Euros child, per segment, per passenger and a price

differential when applicable. Exchanges can be performed by the issuing office

or at any Eurostar station. Refunds/Exchanges, when applicable, are subject to

a 7% administration fee and paper tickets must be returned to the issuing

office within the time frame allowed. For full details on refund procedure,

please visit http:

I await your reply.

Hello Glenys,

Thanks for your reply.

When you select the fare to purchase, Fare details tab will be mentioned below "Add to cart" tab where you will get various information about the ticket including the After Sales Policy.

The cancellation/exchange policy depends on the fare you are going to purchase irrespective of Adult/Child/Senior/Youth fare. Each fare has a different After Sales Policy. Request you to check the After Sales Policy of the fare you want to purchase prior making the booking.

As per the above, "No specific conditions" mentioned means that there are no different conditions, as it is as per the After Sales Policy of the fare.

Kindly note the website you are referring to is the US website which is managed by a different department. As you are from Australia, you can book from Australia website.

Hope this helps!!!

Thank you Leora.

Do you know how long before train departure, passengers have to arrive at the London (St. Pancras) international train station, before their train departs to the continent, i.e. Brussels?
