Europe via rail April - June 2015

I was just wanting to ask for advice about the most cost effective way to travel through quite a few countries spanning 7 weeks, 53nights. We will travel always as a couple 1adult (26) and 1 youth (24).

We travel from Paris - Brugge - Amsterdam - Berlin (4 stops in Germany - berlin, dresden, rothenburg and munich) - Prague - Salzburg - Extensively through Italy - 4 cities in Spain - London.

What pass do u think would be the most beneficial? Probably about 20 days of travel?

Thanks, Cassie

Hello Cassie

Thanks for your question.

As you are traveling extensively in France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and Spain, I suggest you buy a Eurail Global Pass.

With a Global Pass you can avail of unlimited travel on the national rail networks of the countries covered by your pass. As United Kingdom is not included in the Eurail Global Pass, if you are traveling extensively within Great Britain, I suggest you buy a BritRail Pass.

With the BritRail Pass, you can travel where you please, whenever you want! Take as many trains as you like, there is no limit on the distance you can travel in a day.

The BritRail Pass gives you access to all trains, but remember that premium trains require a seat reservation.

The BritRail Pass is the key to have a hassle-free trip throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "Seat Reservations“ & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

Hope this helps!!!
