Hello Denise,

Thanks for your question.

You would have to travel as follows:

- Rome to Naples Frecciarossa / Italo / Intercity train

- Naples to Sorrento (Return) – You would have to book locally

- Naples to Paris via Milan – Frecciarossa and TGV France-Italy /Euronight train

- Paris to Sarlat via Bordeaux or LibourneTGV and TER trains

- Sarlat to Carcassonne via Agen – TER and Corail Teoz trains

I suggest that you purchase a Eurail France- Italy Pass. With a Eurail France- Italy Pass you can avail of unlimited travel on the national rail networks of France and Italy.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares). The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass.

However for your travel to Spain, you would have to purchase point to point tickets as follows:

- Carcassonne to Barcelona - France-Spain High Speed train

- Barcelona to MadridAVE train

In order to book tickets, please visit our website http://www.raileurope.com.au

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Aamir, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
