How can I train from Zurich to Sarlat-la-Caneda in Dordogne?

Can I avoid going through Bordeaux or Paris? They are not on my route.

Hello Dinah,

Thanks for the question.

All the trains from Zurich to Sarlat-la-Canéda are via Paris and Bordeaux.

If you want to avoid these cities, you will have to book the sectors separately.

You can book and travel as follows :

- Zurich to Lyon with 1 connection at Geneva – Eurocities and TER trains.

- Lyon to Toulouse TGV train.

- Toulouse to Sarlat with 1 connection at Bordeaux - TGV and TER trains

In order to book tickets, please visit our website www.raileurope.com.au

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Thank you so much, Leora. However, I have found a train from Toulouse to Bergerac (which would avoid Bordeaux), then another from Bergerac to Sarlat. Of course, they may be infrequent and may not fit within my schedule.

I'm arriving in Zurich at 6.30am and hope to reach Sarlat before 10pm. Perhaps it's an impossible dream.

Kind regards

Dinah
