I am traveling for a 7 days in Italy and France without a car. Florence to Nice in June 2016.

I drop my hire car off in Florence and then stay in Levanto (Cinque Terre) for 3 nights.

How do I organise to get to Levanto by train from Florence?

I plan to visit a few of the Cinque Terre towns when I feel like it, rather than plan a certain day to do this.

After Levanto I need to get to Nice by Train for a 3 night stay, and do a couple of day trips from Nice to a few of these places...Marseile?/ Antibes/ Cannes/ Monaco/Eze.

I would like to know how to purchase point to point tickets (can they be purchased on the day at the railway station), or do I need a rail pass? Which of the these require a booking to be made in advance?I live in Australia.

Hello Tania,

Thanks for your question.

You could make point to point bookings 3 months in advance. As you are traveling in the month of May 2016, the trains aren’t loaded as of now. I would request you to hold on for a couple of months and then get back to us and we would help you with the best travel plan.

Best Regards,

Anthony, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
