lux-ghent-bruge-schiphol. Does a Benelux eurail pass, with the Thalys supplement, make sense? 2 seniors traveling in mid-July

Trying to determine the best way to make this trip -- Leaving Luxembourg City on Monday morning to Ghent; Ghent to Bruge on Tuesday morning and on to Schiphol that evening. Thanks.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for your question.

I suggest that you purchase a Eurail Benelux Pass.

With a Eurail Benelux Pass you can avail of unlimited travel on the national rail networks of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Passes can be purchased up to 6 months before your first day of travel. The pass must be validated within 6 months from the original date of issue.

With this you can travel free on the regional and intercity trains.

However reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains. With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass & then feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

Please click on the “Fare Details” tab to view details regarding the type of fare, type of seat, whether a reservation is included or not and the After Sales Policy.

You can also refer to our travel magazine Connexion for sample itineraries.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

Hope this helps.
