Multiple country travel

Travelling through 5 countries with multiple stops in each over a two week period (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey). What is my best travel option, which also hopefully involves boat/ferry travel.

Destinations are something along the lines of Barcelona, Nice, Venice, Rome, Lecce, Athens, Santorini, Istanbul.

Hello Jessica,

Thanks for your question.

You can travel as follows:

- Barcelona to Nice via Valence – France-Spain high speed and TGV Duplex trains.

- Nice to Venice via Ventimiglia and Milan TER, Other train and Frecciabianca trains.

- Venice to RomeFrecciagento train.

- Rome to Lecce – Frecciagento train.

- Lecce to Brindisi or Bari – Frecciabianca trains. Either place as both have ferry docks going to Greece.

- Bari or Brindisi to Patras – Ferry. This you would have to book locally.

- Patras to Athens – Travel locally.

- Athens to Santorini – Travel locally.

- Santorini to Istanbul – Travel locally.

As you are travelling extensively in Europe, I suggest that you purchase a Eurail Global Pass.

With a Eurail Global Pass you can avail of unlimited travel on the national rail networks of the 28 European countries covered by the pass.

With Eurail Global Pass you can travel free on the regional trains.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website http://www.raileurope.com.au .

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then Add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!
