I am trying to book 2 tickets on the train from Madrid airport to Sarria on the 11.10.15, overnight if possible to arrive on the 12th or during the day. Is there a train on that day?

Hello Pamela,

Thanks for your question.

Travel as follows:

- Madrid to Leon – Other train. (Bookable on your website).

- Leon to Lugo – This leg of your journey you would have to book locally.

- Lugo to Sarria – This leg as well you would have to book locally.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website www.raileurope.com.au.

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Thank you for your reply Anthony, but I understood there was a train that leaves from Madrid airport and passes through Sarria. Can I not buy tickets on line in advance?

Do I have to actually be in Madrid to buy tickets locally?

If this is the case, what will the chances be of getting a ticket on my day of arrival in Madrid.

I do know that I can book in advance for the bus, do you think I should do this?

Sorry for all the questions but did think it would be a simple thing to do.

I am only doing a single trip so would not buy the Euro Pass for that.

Hello Pamela,

Thanks for your reply.

As of now, the trains haven’t been loaded. This being because the booking horizon for the Spanish train sector is 2 months prior to the date of travel. I would suggest you try book later.

Also, as off now there are no direct trains plying in between the two cities. I would suggest you get back to us closer to your travel date and we will help you get the best routing for your sector.

Regards,
