Hello Helen,

Thanks for your question.

You would have to travel as follows:

- London to Paris Eurostar train

- Paris to Brig via LausanneTGV Lyria and Eurocites train

- Brig to ChurGlacier Express train

- Chur to Bellinzona – Bus. You would have to book locally

- Bellinzona to Lugano – Direct train

- Lugano to Venice via Milan Cisalpino trains

The Bernina Express is a scenic train operating between Switzerland and Italy

The Bernina Express Route : Chur/Davos/St. Moritz > Bernina Pass > Poschiavo > Tirano (> Lugano). Bernina Express tickets are open for booking 90 days ahead.

For details on Glacier Express train please click here.

As you are travelling extensively within Switzerland, Swiss Pass will be more helpful. With a Swiss Pass you can travel free within Switzerland on the STS (Swiss Travel System) network on trains, buses and boats. Also with a Swiss Pass you would get discounts on mountain excursions within Switzerland. This discounts can only be availed locally by showing your Swiss Pass to the ticketing office in Switzerland.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website http://www.raileurope.com.au/book-now/

Hope this helps.
