Hello Lou,

Thanks for your question.

As per your travel plan I would suggest that you buy Eurail 4 country select pass for Italy, Switzerland, Germany and any other 4th bordering country.

Eurail 4 country select pass offers you unlimited travel on the regional trains within the countries that you have selected.

Passes can be purchased up to 6 months before your first day of travel. The pass must be validated within 6 months from the original date of issue.

Reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains, night trains, scenic trains and border crossing trains. Hence you need to buy additional reservations for Golden Line Pass train.

With a Pass the seat reservations will be offered at discounted fares (Pass holder fares).

The pass seats can be reserved by clicking on "book a compulsory seat reservation when using your rail pass" & feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares.

In order to book pass, please visit our website.

Hope this helps!!!

In Italy, Umbria, Cinque Terre or Tuscany. Are they considered regional areas?
