Ticket validity

Hi there,

Im planning on travelling Italy & France and I was just wondering if it were cost effective buying the Italy/France pass? I will be flying into Rome and going straight to the Naples, then back to Rome. The onto Florence, Venice, Milan, Monaco, Montpellier & working my way up to Paris. Ideally spending a few days in each city. This would be spread over about two & a half weeks but noticed the passes are only valid for a few days?? What should I do?

Kind Regards

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for the question.

You can purchase Eurail Italy Pass for your travel in Italy and point to point ticket for your travel in France.

To purchase Eurail Italy Pass click "Here".

You can purchase point to point ticket as follows:

- Turin to Monaco via Genova - Intercity and Thello train.

- Monaco to Montpellier via Nice - TGV and Intercities trains.

- Montpellier to Paris - TGV train.

As you will have Eurail Italy Pass, you can travel from the boarder station of Italy and purchase point to point ticket to Monaco hence from Milan to Turin you can travel with your Pass and Turin to Monaco you will have to purchase point to point ticket.

Keep in mind that seat reservations would be mandatory for all High-Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. But, you will avail pass holder/discounted fares for these journeys with the pass. With a Pass you can travel on regional/intercity trains within a country.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

To purchase seat reservations, kindly click on "Seat reservations" tab which is on the homepage of our website and follow the above procedure.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Leora, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
