TRAIN TRAVEL ZURICH TO LIVORNO, Italy (point to point tickets? or other?)

In early September 2016 my wife and I are thinking of having 2 nights in Zurich and 2 nights in Chur on route to Tirano Italy via the Bernina Express. From there wanting to get train tickets to Livorno Italy. Is it cheaper to get point to point tickets or a combination with the Swiz travel pass. If we pre purchase tickets, can they be exchanged for the next day or later, if we have unexpected travel delays and miss the booking. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Ross

Hello Rosario,

Thanks for the question.

As you are travelling to only few cities in each country it is best to purchase point to point ticket for your travel. You can book and travel as follows :

- Zurich to Chur - Regional Train.

- Chur to Tirano - Bernina Express train.

- Tirano to Milan - Regional trains.

- Milan to Livorno via 1 connection at Florence - Fecciarossa and Other trains.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website www.raileurope.com.au

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,

Amar, Rail Europe Travel Expert.
