Train Trip from Moscow to St Petersberg

Hello

I will be needing to book a trip from Moscow to St Petersberg. I am aware that Russian trains can only be booked 6 weeks in advance. So I tried it out on the rail Europe booking site and found that the tickets for this trip were only open up to the end of May (5 weeks in advance). Also I noticed that the only option available was for Flexible First class.

I will be leaving Aus 1-2 weeks before my scheduled train trip. So I want to book it as soon as it becomes available. How do I get access to these tickets the full 6 weeks before my trip? Also how do I get access to the Best First class and second class options?

Thanks

Ivor

Hello Ivor,

Thanks for your question.

There are direct trains from Moscow to St Petersburg. You would have to travel as follows:

- Moscow to St Petersburg – Eurocites train

Please note that your travel sector can be booked only 6 weeks in advance.

Kindly advise your date of travel in order to assist you accordingly.

In order to book tickets, please visit our website http://www.raileurope.com.au/

You would need to feed in the Departure city and the Arrival city along with the travel date and preferred time & the number of passengers (Senior, adults, youth and children), and then click on “search tickets”. Once you do so, you would find the schedules along with the fares. You need to select the fare which is preferable to you and then Add it to Cart. Once added, you need to mention the names of the passengers to make the payment on the next page.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks Aamir,

We will be traveling on 20 June 2014. I know this date is more than 6 weeks away. However when I looked at the raileurope site there was only access to tickets to the end of may (4.5 weeks away). Tickets 6 weeks away were inaccessible. Also as discussed above there was not access to all fare types. The only option that was available was Flexible First Class. Depending on price I would probably prefer the cheaper Best First class option.

Thanks

Hello Ivor,

Thanks for your reply.

Please note that your travel sector can be booked only 6 weeks in advance.

I won't be able to comment on train schedules and fares for travel in June , as they are subject to change. May I request you to try booking closer to your departure date.

If you would like to get an approximate quote, please check for any current date within April and May.

Hope this helps!!!
