Travel from San Sebastian to St Jean Pied de Port

I understand that this trip is regarded as a local or regional trip and so cannot be booked on line.

Is this correct?

If so, how does one purchase a ticket? Is it simply a matter of turning up at the railway station and hoping that a ticket is available? Or is there another way which provides a bit more certainty?

Thanks,

Peter, Australia.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for your question.

You would have to get to the local train station itself and book.

You would have to get to Hendaye and then to Bayonne to get to St Jean Pied de Port.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks Anthony,

Do I deduce from your answer that there is no way to book in advance from here in Australia - that I simply have to turn up on the day at the station and hope that I can get a ticket??

Reagrds, Peter.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

You would have to book this sector locally itself

Thanks Anthony,

Sorry to be a nuisance, but your answer still isn't clear to me.

When you say "book this sector locally itself" does that mean that I have to be on the ground, at each of the stations you mention, and purchase a ticket on the day of travel? When one "books" something that implies a pre-travel reservation - but is what you are saying is that there is no way to "book" (or reserve, or purcashe) a ticket from afar, that I must simply turn up on the day of travel, and purchase a ticket if one is available?

Thanks, Peter.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, once you are at San Sebastian ask a rail official what would be the best route. They would help would appropriately.
