Travel in Italy - Rail passes vs point to point ticket ?

I am planning a trip round Italy from the 13 Sept 2015. Flying in from Manchester to Milan. Then to La Spezia on the 15th Sept followed by Florence on the 18th Sept. Then a trip to Siena on 20th and Naples on 22 Sept. We would like to visit Sorento and Amalfe coast and back to Rome on 25th Sept. Should we get a rail ticket for each sector or are we better off getting a rail pass. There are two of us travelling. Appreciate your suggestions. Thank you Nas.

Hello Nasir,

Thanks for your question.

As per you travel plan, a pass would be most suitable. But as you are traveling in the next 3 days, I would request you to purchase Eurail Italy Pass at an aid office once at Milan Centrale train station.

Keep in mind that the pass is subject to availability and also along with the pass you would have to make mandatory seat reservations on all High Speed, Night, Scenic and Border Crossing trains. However you would have unlimited travel on all regional and national train carriers.

Hope this helps!!!

Best Regards,
